What is the Chats feature in the MCS Mobile App?
Chats allow families to connect instantly with teachers, coaches, and administrators — all in one convenient spot. While providing traceable communication, Chats can be used to provide quick updates, helpful reminders, or real-time support. Chats is one of the Board-approved communication tools for employees and students. You must be logged in to your account on the mobile app to use Chats.
Step 1
Click on the gear/account profile bubble in the upper right hand corner. You can customize here exactly when your phone will notify you of any communication in the Chat feature.
Step 2
Notifications: Select when you would like to receive notifications for messages in Chat. Configure the day(s) as well as specific times you can receive notifications on your phone.
You can also manage your Subscriptions. Toggle on any schools that you wish to receive notifications from.
Step 3
Once you are logged in to the mobile app, find the Chats icon in the bottom toolbar.
Step 4
The chat home screen is where it all begins!
Chat rooms you have been assigned to are in the top half of the screen.
Direct Messages are in the bottom half.
Tap on a Chat Room to start chatting or select a teacher/coach in Direct Messages to send a direct message. You must be logged in to your account on the mobile app to use Chat/Direct Messages.
